Thursday night saw two big games at both ends of the table in the Premier League, as Burnley took on Chelsea and Southampton travelled to Leicester City.
Chelsea kept their slight hopes of a top-four finish alive as they beat high-flying Burnley 2-1 at Turf Moor, ending the Clarets’ five-game winning run.
While Southampton’s quest for survival hit another bump as they were held 0-0 at Leicester City, link sbo  whose own dreams of European football are surely over for another season.
Here are five things we learned from the two matches.
1. A possible new formation for Chelsea?
Following Olivier Giroud’s game-changing, and winner, performance from the bench against Southampton on Sunday, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte started the match with Burnley in an unprecedented way.
For the first time since 2011, Chelsea started a match with two recognised strikers playing together in the team (as a front two), with Giroud lining up alongside Alvaro Morata – and the Blues looked very good because of it.
